We're Starting a Theatre Company!

My "Something-a-Day" has been behind-the-scenes for a little while now. I didn't want to announce anything too soon, but enough pieces are in place that I finally feel ready to share (a little bit!) with you all.
I don't want to go into all the details until our website is up and running, BUT... the 2¢ Lion Theatre Company is officially underway. Our first production, Yesterday/Today, is in the works!
The play will receive its world premiere this June. Here is a short description:
When a lazy writer finds himself in a new universe, he has the chance to write the script that was "stolen" from him. Except... he can't stop teleporting to new dimensions. This upbeat 3-person farce pokes fun at pipedreams, procrastination, and the phoniness inside us all.
Elevator Pitch: A sci-fi, universe-hopping romantic comedy that blends a love of movies, The Beatles, and Nick Payne's play Constellations.

The company was co-founded by me and my good friends Izzy Chern and Gracie Jacobson. We are still working logistics, official titles, etc. — but it is something we have all wanted to do for a long time, and it is exhilarating to finally put our dreams into action.
In the coming weeks, we are submitting the production to a festival and launching a crowdfunding campaign to help get this thing off the ground. Working with LOCAL Theater Company over the last 8 months has provided great insight to the way a theatre company operates behind-the-scenes. I have really enjoyed the producer side of things, and I've given myself the title "Co-Founder, Producer and Resident Playwright" for now.
Stay tuned for more developments!
