A new resolution — Back to the Stage!
I’ve slacked again. So what? I’ve definitely kept myself busy creatively, with a lot of my energy going toward my Spellcheck: Spelling Bee Premiere Party next Saturday night. While I’d like to document every creative moment, I’m realizing that is a lot harder than it sounds.
But I’ve done a lot of thinking, and I’ve made up my mind. I am going to give another go at acting. I’ve taken a long break, but I think it’s time to put my all into it.
Last Friday, I was sitting in the DCPA’s Singleton Theater, watching Edward Albee’s Who’s Afraid of Virginia Woolf? and I was in absolute awe. The actors took this 3-hour behemoth of a play and maintained energy and intensity every second of the way. I’ve always thought I could grow up to play a good George in that show. Watching this reminded me how much I love being on a stage, and how much I still have to learn before I can achieve what those actors did last Friday night.
i love writing too, and I will continue posting here my thoughts, stories, scripts, and more. But I’ve resolved to sign up for auditions, take classes, and lean into acting like I never have before.
i will share my audition stories, successes, and failures along the way. Thanks to everyone who has been reading, and I hope you will keep going with me on this journey. :)
